Ringside Grill

Looking for an awesome restaurant on the east side of Portland, Oregon?

We were too, and that’s how we found Ringside Grill!

It turns out that Ringside has a location on the east side and the best part is their amazing patio! Well, that and the steaks!

On Tuesdays they have $2 sliders and $4 beer taster flights in the lounge and the patio.

Ringside Grill

On the east side of Portland the popular Ringside Steak house has a sister restaurant, Ringside Grill. Most of the same Ringside favorites are available here! Their chefs plant and source from an on-site herb and tomato garden and incorporate these fresh elements into several menu items. How great is that!

Earlier this summer the kids and I headed over there for a beautiful meal out on their patio.  The onion rings really are the best in Portland. I thought they were the best onion rings I’ve ever had. We now come here just to eat onion rings. The ones shown in the photo are the large portion for $11.75. Now, I am frugal so I know this is too much to spend on onion rings, but they are just so dang good.

Also in that photo is the happy hour calamari. It was okay. I wouldn’t order it again.

Noah ordered the salmon and seemed extremely pleased with it. Now, as a gal from West Texas I have a hard time understanding why one of my children would order fish when they have incredible steaks available, but when the salmon came out even I had to admit it looked good.

And it’s obvious that Jonah was happy with his food. Granted, he hadn’t tried it yet, he just loves to pose.  He had a kid’s hamburger.

Eden ordered the Filet Mignon 6 ounce portion for $35.

I went with the ribeye which you can get bone in or no bone for $42 – $45. It was phenomenal. I washed it down with the beer tasters. They have 21 taps of local beer, wine, and cider on draft.  They even have growlers to go in two sizes.

All of us split a side of brussel sprouts. These are not always on the menu so when they are I recommend you get them.

The patio here is awesome. If it’s a nice day, it’s a great place to be. And what’s even better, happy hour is available outside on the patio! Kids can sit out there too, so the whole family can enjoy happy hour.

You know how I feel about kid-friendly happy hours in Portland. Ringside Grill has happy hour everyday starting at 2:30 P.M.

Unbelievably none of us saved room for dessert. I am unsure if this is the first time this has happened. The dessert menu sounded awesome, so when we next return we will “research”.  We also have to try their weekend brunch sometime. I’ve heard good things about it.
