I have two boys that are similar yet completely different and because of that we have owned what feels like every single toy ever made for boys. So after over 14 years of having boys, I have put together this gift guide for boys. My hope is that it takes some of the guess work out of what to get the boy in your life for his birthday, Christmas, or any other occasion.
Johnny the Skull is just about the coolest toy for boys, I’ve ever seen. Johnny the Skull is a fast-paced electronic game that projects ghosts on the walls and ceiling as he swivels his head in all directions. Shoot quick or you may miss them! Your blaster (gun) will count the number of ghosts hit. G
The game has 3 different skill levels. What I love about this is that my 8 year old can play it by himself. It gets him off the couch and moving around to shoot the ghosts.
Avengers Vision allows you to gear up against the robotic villain Ultron with this wonder of technology. Images will be projected inside the goggles that only the player will see. Use the stylized blaster to shoot your enemies and score points. But be careful because fellow Avengers can also appear. If you hit one, you will lose points. Again, I love this because he can play it by himself or with a friend. Plus, he’s up moving around.
Blaster Ball keeps players on their toes playing virtual racquetball with a simulated “ball of light.” The CONSOLE projects a “light ball” on the ceiling and walls, giving the player the opportunity to hit it with the intergalactic RACQUET. The darker the room the better. The score is tracked by the game console. Each game can be played solo against the console or can be a two-player competition. The first player to score 11 points is the winner! (Okay, you are probably noticing a theme here….. solo play or play with a friend. Plus, you’re up moving around!)
Chrono Bomb is a super secret spy mission where kids use the included clamps and 27.5-ft. string to create a “laser” field to crawl through. At the end of the maze is the bomb, counting down…tick, tick, tick! So, you have to hurry, carefully, and make it to the end to defuse the bomb and be the hero! Play over and over again, building new courses each time or trying to beat you or your friend’s time! I don’t know why, but my kid loves to be timed and beat his own time.
EZ Roller is a super fun toy that any kid would love and be able to use. It comes with an extendable bar so the EzyRoller can grow with the rider or so you can change it back in forth if you have big kids and little kids that want to ride it like me. I don’t really get how it works, but it does. My kids just sit on it and ride all over the place. They love this thing.
RipRider 360 Caster Trike made by Razor is another fun ride on toy for kids. This ride on features dual inclined caster wheels. The casters allow resistance-free drifting and spinning action. Boys will love riding around on this and drifting. I am always amazed they don’t flip, but I guess because it is so low to the ground it doesn’t.
