I have two boys that are similar yet completely different and because of that, we have owned what feels like every single toy ever made for boys. So after over 21 years of having boys, I have put together this gift guide for boys. My hope is that it takes some of the guesswork out of what to get the boy in your life for his birthday, Christmas, or any other occasion.
Gifts for Boys
Meet Miko 3-an AI robot developed by tech company Miko. Think “Wall-E” or “BB-8” — Miko’s personality brings wit, whimsy and fun into your home in ways that other technology does not. The perfect gift for kids ages 5-12 years old this holiday season!
Need a joke when you’re down? A dance when you’re bored? An art activity to spark your creativity or a new game to explore? Miko’s on it.
Johnny the Skull is just about the coolest toy for boys, I’ve ever seen. Johnny the Skull is a fast-paced electronic game that projects ghosts on the walls and ceiling as he swivels his head in all directions. Shoot quick or you may miss them! Your blaster (gun) will count the number of ghosts hit.
The game has 3 different skill levels. What I love about this is that my 8 year old can play it by himself. It gets him off the couch and moving around to shoot the ghosts. If you also have an 8 year old check out these board games for 8 year olds.
Chrono Bomb is a super secret spy mission where kids use the included clamps and 27.5-ft. string to create a “laser” field to crawl through. At the end of the maze is the bomb, counting down…tick, tick, tick! So, you have to hurry, carefully, and make it to the end to defuse the bomb and be the hero! Play over and over again, building new courses each time or trying to beat you or your friend’s time! I don’t know why, but my kid loves to be timed and beat his own time.
EZ Roller is a super fun toy that any kid would love and be able to use. It comes with an extendable bar so the EzyRoller can grow with the rider or so you can change it back in forth if you have big kids and little kids that want to ride it like me. I don’t really get how it works, but it does. My kids just sit on it and ride all over the place. They love this thing.
RipRider 360 Caster Trike made by Razor is another fun ride on toy for kids. This ride on features dual inclined caster wheels. The casters allow resistance-free drifting and spinning action. Boys will love riding around on this and drifting. I am always amazed they don’t flip, but I guess because it is so low to the ground it doesn’t.
