Agionissi Resort on Amouliani Island is Halkidiki’s best kept secret. Keep reading to find out why your family will adore Agionissi Resort.
Our favorite resort in Halkidiki is Agionissi Resort. It’s so private it makes you feel like you are off the grid. I think I can honestly say that out of all the places I have traveled I have never been anywhere where I feel like I left behind civilization until I stayed here. This is a little ironic since the Village of Amouliani is less than 2 miles away.

Agionissi Resort
Agionissi Resort is a family friendly semi-all inclusive resort on Amouliani Island. Amouliani Island is Halkidiki’s only inhabited Island, located in the Gulf of Mount Athos. It is home to 600 residents. There is a ferry that will take you over and can also take your car over.
Half Board
By semi all inclusive I mean that they offer a breakfast buffet and dinner in the rate. I believe this is optional and in Europe is referred to as half board. Now we liked the breakfast, but when we found out that they had a pancake maker at the pool bar there was no point of return. After being in Greece for over 10 days at this point my kids were over the moon for pancakes. The crazy part was trying to order them the second day. There was a newer employee working the pool bar and we finally showed him a picture and pointed at the machine. He was so proud when he brought them out shortly after. It was the first time in his entire life to make pancakes!!!!
Charming Rooms
The rooms are a little on the rustic side, but this just adds to the resorts overall charm. The bathrooms have a bathtub, which I was super happy to have. There’s a stocked mini bar in all of the rooms with drinks and snacks as well as air conditioning. All the rooms face the water and have a view. The buildings are painted white and the doors are painted blue, which is perfect for photos.
Beaches
Agionissi Resort has two beaches for guests to enjoy. One is a hike to get to, but the other is a short walk. By hike, I mean a five to ten minute walk, so not really a hike. We took a wrong turn and so we went for a hike on our way to Golden beach, but shouldn’t have. On our way back we felt like idiots when we saw what a quick walk it was had we stayed on the right path. One notable thing about Golden Beach, women were going topless. I know this isn’t for everyone, so if this is an issue for you don’t go here. I wish I had known before I took my sons down there.
At the other beach (I forget the name), which is much closer to the resort than the other beach, everyone seemed to manage to keep their clothes on. Thank goodness. Needless to say this is where we spent our time. I noticed there were way more children hanging out at this beach.
Swimming Pool
The swimming pool was massive and there was a lifeguard on duty off and on. The pool is super deep, so bring a life jacket! We spent a lot of time at the pool, because there was free WiFi around the pool area. They sell floatie in the little shop in the lobby. In the back of the resort is a tennis court and a playground.
Spa
The resort has a small spa that offers a variety of treatments including facials and massages. I had a massage while I was there and it was heavenly. Next time I am going to try a facial. The spa is in the lowest part of the building, secluded from the rest of the resort. It’s incredible that an already private resort was able to make the spa even more private. There’s a hammam, Jacuzzi, and quiet outdoor area for all spa guests to enjoy.
Rooftop Bar
Agionissi Resort has a massive rooftop bar with fantastic views. Kids are allowed up there, so we hung out up there both nights we were there. One night they hosted a little birthday party for all the July birthdays. I do not know what kind of cake it was, but it was so yummy.
