The Ague de Valencia is a popular Spanish cocktial that is very simple to make and even easier to drink because it tastes great.

It’s been a long time since I was in Spain and at the pace things are going, it will be a long time before I am back in Spain or even Europe. So instead of daydreaming of Spain and all their wonderful food, I made a Spanish cocktail, the Agua de Valencia.

It’s got grapefruit juice in it so it’s basically diet food. Right? This juicy cocktail was developed back in 1959 by Constante Gil in Valencia at CafĂ© Madrid but didn’t become popular until the 1970s.

You likely have all the ingredients you need on hand to make this cocktail except for the orange liquor. Good thing liquor stores are essential. Here’s the recipe.
