On our family vacation to Hawaii we stayed at the Bali Hai resort in Princeville on the island of Kauai. The north side of the island.  It was a great place. I am posting pictures that I took of the place and  the room we stayed in. Although it was very nice, it certainly does not look like the pictures on their website.

The grounds were well kept and the pool was in the middle of the property so it was easily walked to.  It really was not within walking distance of anything else. For some reason there are roosters all over the place on the island. There were quite a few living here at the resort. My kids thought it was pretty funny to watch them.

This is a picture of the living room.  The couch did not make into a bed.  There was a good size kitchen with everything you might need and a small dining area.
The 2nd bedroom had two twin beds and a full bathroom.  The master bedroom was big and had a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi tub.
The pool was zero entry and has a sand bottom.  The sand is rough.
The pool was a good size, but the hot tub was small and not that hot.
Bali Hai Amenities

  • “Organized Activities” Program
  • 3 Outdoor Hot Tubs
  • Clubhouse
  • Outdoor Children’s Pool
  • Tennis Court
  • Picnic/BBQ Area
If we went back we would gladly stay here again, if we could not find something somewhere else on the island.  I think Princeville is too far from Poipu Beach and the west side of the island. I personally would rather stay in Poipu or the west side, because those areas are much warmer. Plus, this resort is a long drive from the airport. Be sure to book a rental car if you are staying here. And don’t wait until you arrive to get a rental car. It’s an island they do run out of cars.
