We are obsessed with this place. It’s currently are go-to Mexican restaurant. Their Tex Mex brisket tacos are stupid good and the margaritas are huge. The chips come with two types of salsa and a bean dip that is delicious.

Happy Hour Monday – Thursday 3-6 pm with $6 mangoritas and $6 house margaritas. Located at 930 Parker Square Rd, Flower Mound, TX 75028.

Their donuts are fantastic and creative. This is the only place I’ve ever seen a pineapple fritter. Plus, they’ve got fantastic chicken sandwiches. Located at 801 International Pkwy Suite No. 520, Flower Mound, TX 75022.

This steakhouse is wonderful. Be sure to save room for dessert. They have an option where you can get all of them and it is served with a sparkler! My kids love the hamburgers here. Sometimes they have live music out on the patio.

Happy hour is from 4 PM to 6 PM daily with half off cocktails, beer, and wine. Located at 2401 Lakeside Pkwy, Flower Mound, TX 75022. 

Alma Mexican RestauranteAlma Mexican Restaurante

This Mexican food restaurant has the best churros. The other food is good. The enchilada verdes are excellent. They have a kids menu for $7. More recently they’ve gotten their liquor license, so there’s an actual bar now. 

Happy hour is Monday-Friday 2 pm-5 pm. Located at 2321 Cross Timbers Rd #405, Flower Mound, TX 75028.

Verf’s Grill & TavernVerf's

I’ve never had a bad meal here. I typically get the enchilada which is more like a burrito. The chef is a wiz, so no matter what you order it’s going to be fire. Now on Sunday mornings, they have a phenomenal breakfast buffet.

Happy hour is Monday – Friday from 3 pm to 6 pm on the following: $5 Tito’s Vodka (Make it A Martini For $3 more), $5 Verf’s Old Fashioned, $3 Pints Domestic Beer, $3 House Wine, and $5 Verf’s Ranch Water. Located at 2221 Justin Rd #101, Flower Mound, TX 75028.

Whiskey and Smoke is an absolute gem. The atmosphere is upscale and the food is excellent. Everything we’ve tried here so far has been a winner including some of the cocktails. My favorite item is the blue cheese salad with brisket. Sadly, I cannot recall the name of it.

They have happy hour from 3 – 7 PM on Thursdays and on Fridays with $4 beer, $7 wine, and $9 cocktails. Located along Flower Mound’s River Walk at 4120 River Walk Dr, Flower Mound, TX 75028.

Anamia’s Tex-Mex

Anamia’s is a solid choice, especially at lunchtime. Their enchiladas are excellent. This was where I went to have lunch after I closed on my house so it has a special place in my heart. Located at 1900 Long Prairie Rd, Flower Mound, TX, 

GiroPizzaGiro Pizza

GiroPizza serves outstanding authentic Italian pizza. We sampled a variety of pizzas and all of them were fantastic. Plus, we had a dessert pizza that was phenomenal. They let you split the pizza up to four ways so you get to try a bunch of different pizzas at once. The wines are from the owner’s vineyard near Florence. He’s originally Milan so the food is authentic. How amazing is that! Located at 3711 Justin Rd #100, Flower Mound, TX 75028.

Ramen MuraRamen Mura

If you’re looking for a unique and tasty dining experience, then Ramen Mura is the place to be! The menu is filled with appetizers like dumplings or edamame as well as ramen soups, sushi dishes, rice options, and even matcha cheesecake for dessert – there’s something delicious for everyone. Enjoy vibrant vibes along with organic produce locally grown whenever possible. I don’t eat seafood but my friends said it was excellent.

So far, this is the best Thai food I’ve found in the area. The staff is super nice and the food is great. According to the website they specialize in Thai and Lao cuisine but we only tried Thai food. They let you choose your spice level on a scale from 1 – 5. If you aren’t sure stick with a 2. Located at 3651 Justin Rd Suite 100, Flower Mound, TX 75028.

Gloria’s is delicious Mexican food and I don’t care that it’s a chain. We’ve eaten here a lot and it’s always good. Located at 3721 Justin Rd Suite 100, Flower Mound, TX 75028.

This little cupcake place is the bomb! Their cupcakes are the perfect dessert. You cannot tell from this photo but they are big. During a Lantana Ladies League event, we popped in here and it was so good. Located at 8401 Justin Rd. Ste 104. Double Oak, TX 75077. 

Underdogs Burgers and BrewsUnderdogs Burgers and Brews

The manager is an a-hole but if you can manage not to interact with him Underdogs has an interesting collection of burgers on their menu. I had the wedge salad and it was gigantic. Kids eat free every Friday from 11a – 3p with the purchase of an adult meal. 

Happy Hour is Monday – Friday from 11 am – 7 pm. They have $9 appetizers, $9 cocktails, and $5 Wells. They charge me quite a bit during happy hour for an Aperol spritz so don’t make that mistake! Located along the Flower Mound River Walk at 4110 River Walk Dr, Flower Mound, TX 75028. There’s lots of free parking.

I saved Fajita Pete’s for last because it’s a to-go food place. My cousin owns it so I might be a little biased but it’s fantastic. When you just don’t want to cook but want a great meal this is your place to either pick up food or have it delivered. Yes, they deliver. Located at  3634 Long Prairie Rd #112, Flower Mound, TX 75022
