Find out why Breathless Punta Cana is my favorite adults-only all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic!
Breathless Punta Cana Resort and Spa
Breathless Punta Cana is a gorgeous adults-only all-inclusive resort and this is definitely a good place to stay if you want to party. They have more bars than restaurants.
They have 8 restaurants, including Mexican, Italian, American, Asian, and French-themed restaurants. I didn’t have a chance to eat at all of them, but the places I did try the food was great. Guests staying here at Breathless have exchange privileges at Now Onyx next door giving them access to all of their restaurants and bars as well.
The Mexican restaurant, Picante, has an amazing spicy margarita. Just make sure you tell them to add liquor to it. Otherwise, they will serve them to you without alcohol. I know this because after having three of them, I was completely sober.
Another drink you need to try while staying here is the frozen Mojito. This is available at one of the pool bars.
Party All Week at Breathless Punta Cana
If you are coming here, it is probably not for the food, it’s to party. And party, you will. They have 10 bars and their lobby turns into a full-blown nightclub at night. Every Thursday guests are encouraged to adorn their bodies with glow paint and dance the night away during the sexy DJ parties. Every Friday is a Black Light pool party with dancers, foam rafts, and a DJ. Don’t forget to pack costumes because other themes include toga, Gatsby, and lingerie parties. Other entertainment includes an on-site casino and
This is the largest Breathless in the world with 750 rooms. All of the rooms have a Jacuzzi on the patio or balcony. All rooms on the bottom floor are swim-out with semi-private pools. All rooms come with either one king-size bed or two double beds and they are all 554 square feet or bigger.
For those that want a more enhanced stay, there is the option to upgrade to Xhale club. This gets you a private check-in, a private lounge with top-shelf liquor, two private pools, an upgraded minibar and room service menu, pillow menu, and more. The rooms are bigger too, at least 601 square feet. It is typically not much per day to upgrade. So, next time I go I am upgrading.
The beach area was fantastic. They only thing I didn’t like about the beach is that it allows semi-nudity. It is a topless option down at the beach and around the pool. I personally don’t want to look at that, so I stuck to the neighboring beach at their sister resort, Now Onyx. (Yes, I know I am a prude.)
Travel tip: Leave the drone at home. They do not allow them here.
Breathless has eight swimming pools! One large pool, one bi-level pool, four quiet pools, and two private Xhale club pools.
While I was walking around the property I noticed several group fitness classes happening, a water aerobics class and a dance class. I was surprised by how many people were participating and how much fun they seemed to be having.
Other activities available are Spanish classes, snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, paddleboard classes, Hobby Wave classes, introductory scuba diving, tennis, paddleball, and beach volleyball.
