I love making this dessert for my family and for potlucks. It seems to always be a hit. The best part is if there are any leftovers you can just pop them in the freezer. Then when you want some cake you can take it out and have a slice.

I didn’t want to tell my kids the real name of this dessert, Better than you know what…….  So, when they asked what the name of it was I told them Chocolate Goodness cake. But for those of you looking for a Better than Sex Poke Cake, this is it!

Chocolate Goodness Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

Better than sex cake ingredients

1 package German Chocolate cake mix
Eggs
Oil
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 jar of Caramel or Butterscotch (last time I got the mix of both)
1 tub of Whip cream
Toffee bits (I use the crushed up Heath)

Directions:

Bake the cake according to the directions on the box.

Let it cool and then poke holes along the top using the end of a wooden spoon.

Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top. Set it in the fridge to cool while the cake absorbs the milk.

Next pour the caramel over the cake and then set back in the fridge.

Once both have been absorbed top with Whip cream and toffee bits!

Variations:

There are some easy ways to tweak this recipe. One of my favorite ways is to use Sea Salted Caramel Sauce by Southern Caramel. That subtle sea salt gives it a nice little flavor boost.

If you do not have a box of German chocolate cake mix on hand use Devil’s food cake mix. It’s just as good.
