Disney Springs is full of shops, restaurants, shows, nightclubs and a movie theater. After you go to the park it can be a great place to explore.
With children, the best place is on the West Side of Downtown Disney, DISNEY QUEST. It is an indoor interactive amusement park. Basically, its virtual games but five floors of them. Not too mention a retro section of games. With certain Disney packages, a visit is included. Paying separately can get expensive. However, this place has hours of fun inside.
Disney Quest
Disney Quest is a massive five-story indoor video-game complex in Downtown Disney at Disney World.
When you are buying tickets to Disney World you can choose to add on an option for Disney Quest. This is usually the cheapest way to buy tickets.
We always add Disney Quest and head here one or two evenings or if it is raining.
Disney Quest Overview
The arcade is broken into different areas by theme. For example, one area is all pinball machines and another is all classic arcade games. For example here is my husband playing some shooting game in the classic arcade area.
My kids favorite area here is the game area that has all kid games like Chuck E. Cheese. Pretty much any game you have ever seen at Chuck E. Cheese can be found here. The only difference is all of these games work and they are clean.
Animation Academy – Here on level 2 you will learn step by step how to draw one of your favorite Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, or Pluto. In this area are other fun drawing games as well, including the one you see below of my daughter standing at an easel.
Virtual Reality Games
Aladdin’s Magic Carpet Ride – Here you put on a special helmet and fly your carpet through the alleys and streets of Agrabah. In this first photo you see the thing you have to wear on your head. The visor then sits on the helmet. It is heavy and bothered my small kids a little.
Another virtual game is a Star Wars game where you are fighting people with lightsabers. It is very funny to watch people play this because you have no idea what they are seeing.
There are rooms full of race car games and they even have Star War airplanes you can race. They were surprisingly difficult to maneuver. If you have a kid that loves Star Wars they will go crazy for this game.
