Are you looking to have some fun but stick to a budget? Here is a list of national retailers with hands-on workshops, classes, and free in-store events for this weekend.

Barnes & Noble

Saturday, October 8th at 11AM. Join in the fun for storytime and activities featuring Tek: The Modern Cave Boy. Contact your local Barnes & Noble store to verify participation.


Home Depot Workshops for Adults

Saturday, October 8th from 10-11:30 AM – Learn basic electrical skills.

Sunday, October 9th from 1 – 2:30 – Learn to install smoke alarms.

Saturday, October 8th from 11 AM – 3 PM and a few locations offer crafts on Sunday.

Michael’s Kid’s Club®

Saturday, October 8th from 10 AM – 12 PM.

Kids ages 3 and up make a Clothespin Bat craft. The cost is $2 per project and includes the supplies. Parent or guardian must remain on the premises during Kids Club. Get more information at the Michaels’ website.

Bank of America Museums on Us

Saturday, November 5th and Sunday, November 6th

Bank of America’s Museums on Us is offering free admission to more than 150 museums nationwide. Simply present your Bank of America or Merrill Lynch credit or debit card along with a photo ID to gain free general admission to any participating institution. Card holders only; guests are not eligible for free admission.

Every 4th grader will get an Every Kid in the Park pass food for FREE admission to all of America’s National Parks. The pass will be good for one full year and will be good for the 4th graders & their families as most parks charge admission per car. This is part of President Obama’s Every Kid in the Park initiative.

If you find yourself in a new location and are looking for a playground, use the free KaBoom Map of Play, playground finder and just type your location into the search bar.

:: Sephora: Free In Store Beauty Classes

Join the Sephora Beauty club , and attend free beauty classes inside Sephora stores to learn everything from building a skin care routine to creating the perfect smoky eye. Classes are held on Sunday at more than 60 stores across the USA. Check with your local stores for schedules and times.

:: SKI Passport for 5th Graders

Go to www.5thgradeskipassport.com to get a free pass in Idaho or the Pacific Northwest. For other areas, search for your state with the words “5th grade ski pass + your state”, or the name of your local ski resort.
