We let our 12 year old have a Halloween party last year and it actually went well. I wasn’t sure what to expect with a bunch of 12 year old boys, so I bought way too much food. We had so much pizza left it took our family of five a week to eat it all.
Turns out 12 year old boys just want to play football. It was pretty funny to watch them play in their costumes.
Halloween Food
I tried using candy melts for the first time. I’m not sure how I went so long without trying this. I made witches brooms with large pretzels, candy melts, and a Halloween Candy Mold
. My kids were impressed that I made candy. One day they’ll know better! You can see the brooms in the above picture. Here’s a link to the actual kit I bought.
I’m still loving my Esio Hot and Cold Beverage Maker
a year later. I set up a little hot chocolate bar next to it since it always has hot water ready.
Apple Teeth – Peanut butter, apples, and marshmallows
Deviled eggs with spiders – Make deviled eggs and cut up an olive to make the spider.
Ghost Cupcakes – Make white cupcakes and stack frosting fairly high, then decorate with black icing.
Owl Cupcakes – make chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting. Make eyes with Oreos and M & M’s.

Ingredients
- 25 Carnegie Deli All-Beef Frankfurters
- 12 oz bottle of Carnegie Deli Dusseldorf Mustard
- 25 sets of candy eyes

- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the dough is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and allow dogs to cool before placing candy eyes on each Mummy.
- Dip in your favorite Carnegie Deli Dusseldorf Mustard for a spooky and delicious treat.
Fun! I love candy molds. I’ll have to look for some Halloween molds this year. Thanks for the fun ideas!
