Discover the Luxury of Naia Resort and Spa in Placencia, Belize

My best friend Lindsey and I jetted off to Belize (a new country for both of us) for a quick girl’s trip. Our top priorities for the trip included beach front, great food, a spa we could take advantage of, safety, and a peaceful atmosphere. We wanted relaxation, not a party atmosphere. Needless to say, we were beyond happy with our resort choice and felt completely safe the entire time.

AccommodationsNaia Resort and Spa in Placencia Belize

Naia Resort and Spa offers 35 beautiful and luxurious beachfront villas, suites, and bungalows that offer guests a tranquil and peaceful space to unwind. I about fell over when I saw how nice they were. To say I was happy to be staying here is an understatement.

The villas are spacious and come with a private deck with a table and chairs that provide breathtaking views of the Caribbean waters and lush gardens if yours is beachfront like mine was! Each villa features a king-size bed with fine Italian linens, outdoor showers, and plunge pools (if your unit has one, mine did not) to pamper guests with the ultimate luxury experience.

The bed is a touch hard but the a/c works great which is more important!

In the bathroom were makeup wipes, q-tips, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion.

Out front, I had two hammocks and if you request to have beach chairs they will set up a few chairs at the beach for you.

Spa and Wellness

Naia Resort and Spa

The Spa area at Naia Resort

The resort’s opulent spa provides a full-service menu of massages, body treatments, and facials developed to relax the mind and body. The spa offers unique treatments using high-end Eminence products that enhance relaxation, rejuvenation, and overall wellness. The unique setting of the spa, surrounded by lush vegetation, provides a tranquil environment for guests to enjoy the treatments.

I had a treatment that kicked off with a foot wash out of the deck of my spa cabana, followed by a lengthy foot reflexology treatment, and finished with a facial. The facial was absolutely divine and had so many steps I lost count around 15. I was just too relaxed to continue keeping track. Each treatment room is separate from the others making it extremely private.

Be sure to bring your swimsuit with you because they have a pool for you to enjoy at the spa. They will even bring you a cocktail or smoothie if you like. I decided to have a Spanish coffee while I lounged in the pool. The setting is serene so plan to spend up to an hour here. They do not have a sauna or whirlpool.

Water Activities

The Naia Resort and Spa offers various water activities right on the beach. Guests can take a dip in the resort’s pool or explore the beauty of the Caribbean waters. The resort provides snorkel equipment, kayaks, and paddleboards to explore. I found the water was too rough for us to paddleboard. Not sure if that’s an October thing or not. Also, the water is warm.

They also have sand volleyball, giant Jenga, and cornhole.

Culinary ExperienceDinner at Naia Resort and Spa

When it comes to dining, the Naia Resort and Spa offers a wide range of options. Whether you want a romantic dinner by the beach, a casual breakfast in bed, or a delicious and healthy meal, the resort’s restaurant offers a diverse culinary experience. The on-site restaurant, 1981, serves farm-to-table cuisine inspired by Belizean and international flavors. Keep in mind that this resort is not all-inclusive so if you want to have lunch or dinner here you will be paying.

Every day at dinner there was special. Sometimes it was a special entree and other times it was a special dessert. This means you can dine here several times and have a different experience each time. Breakfast at Naia Resort and Spa

Their basic breakfast is included which is toast, pastries, and homemade jam. If you want to get something else like the Belizian breakfast sandwich they will reduce the price by $10.

We tried a variety of cocktails while we were here. They have a fun cocktail menu and they were all good. If you order an Aperol spritz be sure to tell them, no lime! I never understand why some Caribbean areas put lime in them. It ruins it in my opinion.

They have a well-equipped gym and a yoga studio. The gym had four foam rollers which is super important to me. There were treadmills, weight machines, and more. Sadly, I forgot to take a picture of the room.

Naia Resort and Spa on the beachCultural Experience

Placencia Village offers unique cultural experiences that guests can savor during their stay. The village is home to various activities from traditional drumming and dancing, guided tours to the Mayan ruins, and visiting a nearby Garifuna village. The resort staff can help guests plan their activities to ensure they have the best cultural experiences.

Shuttle Service

They have a shuttle that goes into town three times a day, which is included in the cost of your stay. Their shuttle will also take you back and forth to the airport. You will definitely want to go into the village at least once. It’s super cool looking with quite a few places to eat.

What you need to bring

I highly recommend bringing mosquito wipes to ensure you cover yourself enough. We were eaten up with bug bits. If you happen to forget bug spray there’s some near the bar next to the pool. They have some sunscreen there as well.

The sun is extremely intense here so you will want to constantly wear sunscreen as well. Even if you are snorkeling you will need to make sure that you are fully covered!

You will get bitten so bring some cortisone to stop the itching. If you have room in your suitcase I would also bring the bug bite thing to try to reduce the itch.

Throw some tiny liquor bottles into your luggage because drinking at this resort adds up quickly! You could also purchase some booze at the main airport in Belize. Once you are at the resort you may or may not end up at a store. I thought we would but never managed to make it. I regretted not having a few tiny vodka bottles with me. They do give you a welcome drink that they will put liquor in if you want. Even if you don’t want it, take it and put it in your fridge for later.
