The Barrel Bar
The Barrel Bar is one of the newest restaurants to open up just outside of Lantana. The food is fabulous and so is the over all vibe. I’ve yet to order anything I do not like there yet. They do take reservations but as long as your party is small I’ve had no issues walking in. Warning: their jalapeño margaritas are the hottest I’ve had anywhere in the world. Located at 2648 FM 407 Suite 150, Bartonville, TX 76226.
Bartonville Store
The Bartonville Store is a fun place to eat with great steaks and an outdoor patio. On the weekends they have live music for a $10 cover and take reservations. They also have a butcher shop here and are open for brunch on the weekends. The best part of their Bloody Mary is the bacon! Located at 96 McMakin Rd, Bartonville, TX 76226.
Golden Egg Cafe
The Golden Egg cafe is the closest breakfast/brunch restaurant to Lantana. It’s always a solid place for breakfast. The avocado benedict is delicious. Located at 2650 FM 407 #165, Bartonville, TX 76226.
Earl’s 377 Pizza
Earl’s 377 Pizza is a fun spot with a rustic vibe in nearby Argyle. They serve pizzas, salads, and other Italian food. Their patio is cool and a good spot for an Instagram photo. Located at 427 US-377, Argyle, TX 76226.
407 BBQ
Gloria’s
Gloria’s is delicious Mexican food and I don’t care that it’s a chain. We’ve eaten here a lot and it’s always good. Located at 3721 Justin Rd Suite 100, Flower Mound, TX 75028.
GiroPizza
Brass Tap

Grimaldi’s Coal Brick-Oven Pizzeria
The pizza is excellent here and fresh, cooked in a coal-burning oven. Located at 1101 Shoal Crk Ste 110 Highland Village, TX 75077.
Shoal Creek Tavern
Shoal Creek Tavern is a neighborhood gastropub with two temperature-controlled patios, 50+ specialty beers on tap, and lots of TVs in case you want to watch the game. They specialize in craft cocktails with fun options seasonally. The brie appetizer is delightful. Located at 1701 Shoal Creek Ste 245 Highland Village, TX 75077.
Torchy’s Tacos
Torchy’s Tacos is always cheap and tasty. On the weekends during brunch they have discounted mimosas and Bloody Mary’s. Located at 1601 Village Parkway, Suite K110 Highland Village, TX 75077.
Berries and Batter
Berries and Batter is an adorable brunch spot. At this point, we’ve had half the menu and never had a meal. Pictured is the cinnamon roll french toast topped with berries and cream. We like to split it like an appetizer before the rest of our food comes out. Located at 2100 Village Pkwy Ste 100 Highland Village, TX 75077.
Hugo’s Lost Colony
The Tulum-inspired decor at Hugo’s Lost Colony would be worth going for even if the rest wasn’t great. However, the food and drinks are just as good. The fajita deal for 4 – 6 makes it possible to feed a family for $60 which I think is a great deal. Located at 2420 Justin Rd, Highland Village, TX 75077.
I’m sure there are many more places to eat at throughout the area but I only listed the ones we’ve dined at and that were good enough to recommend. If you have a recommendation others would benefit from, please leave it in the comments below.
