Whistler day spa

The Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa inside Summit Lodge

While up in Whistler, British Columbia, a picture perfect ski town, I had the chance to be pampered with a luxurious massage at the Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa a popular Whistler day spa with two locations. It is actually considered on of the top 50 spas in Canada and it is the only authentic Javanese spa in North America. I visited the location inside Summit Lodge where we were staying for the week. They have a second location at the Hilton Whistler Resort.

The entire place smelled heavenly. Ladies were actually walking in while I was waiting just to ask what the smell was. I walk past the entrance multiple times all week when we were going to the pool and every time it smelled great.

Once inside you are met by excellent facilities that are extremely clean and lovely. The staff was friendly and welcoming. They offered me tea or water and took my shoes and gave me a pair of flip flops to wear while I was there.

I got the 60 minute Javanese massage and it was to die for. It is probably the best massage I have ever had. It was deep and relaxing at the same time.

What is a Javanese spa?

From their site – ” Our Therapists are all professionally trained at our own School of Spa Therapist in Indonesia to bring you the authentic Javanese Spa experience that is now available in North America only in Whistler, British Columbia. Honoring the balance in body, mind and spirit, Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa provides various holistic treatments with combination of water therapy, natural herbs and traditional Javanese body treatments, which has been a secret among members of Javanese Royal Court to maintain their beauty and physical well-being.”Treatment roomThis was my treatment room. It smelled rich and soothing, it was dimly lit, and had soft music playing. The room has a sink area and a shower.

All treatment rooms have a shower.
