When we were stationed at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, Nevada we always used the base clinic. They have a massive hospital on base and we went there for pretty much everything. Every time we went in I would see military members and veterans in the waiting room who were missing an arm or a leg. I do not know if the general public realizes how many limbs were lost in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, but it was a lot. All you had to do was look around one on base clinic to realize that there were a lot of veterans dealing with this day in and day out. Not to mention that some veterans lost more than one limb. In fact one of my neighbors lost both of his legs. Most recently I had the privilege of meeting Noah Galloway one of the most famous veterans who lost multiple limbs. I was so honored to meet him I couldn’t even think of something to say!
Now I know you must be wondering why am I talking about veterans who are missing limbs. Well, it’s because I just found out about the the partnership with United Rentals and SoldierStrong suits. I was completely blown away to learn about these SoldierSuits and how such a small amount of money could provide one for a day to a vet. Then on top of that I learned about how United Rentals is raising money to get vets into these suits with their Turns for Troops initiative. I know that was a lot so I am gonna break it down for you.
