Here are some pictures we took from the very top of the Vatican. These pictures make Rome look very green, but I thought Rome was dry and brown. You can probably tell from the photos that Vatican City is massive. It’s around 100 acres!

This picture is taken from inside the top of the Vatican.  Be sure to check out the other pictures I took inside the Vatican.

Vatican travel tip: I read a lot of places about ways to skip the lines, but when I got there I couldn’t figure it out. The lines are horrible. We stood in line for over two hours. After a little research I found this Early-Access Sistine Chapel Viewing & Vatican Museum Ticket on Expedia. This ticket offers exclusive early-morning entry, you’re among the first of the day to set foot inside the Sistine Chapel. Gain access before the doors open to the general public and admire the beauty of this world-renowned masterpiece before wandering the Vatican Museums at your leisure. It costs $61 and I guarantee it will be money well spent and save you literally hours!
