Last weekend, my best friend Lindsey and I decided to plan a much-needed weekend away. We tossed around several ideas, but nothing seemed to stick until someone suggested visiting wineries. After a bit of research, we found the perfect destination: Burnet, Texas, just north of Marble Falls. Known for its scenic beauty and warm hospitality, Burnet also boasts some of the best wineries in the hill country. Here, we share our favorite vineyards and experiences with you.

7 Best Wineries Near Burnet, Texas

Torr Na Lochs VineyardTorr Na Lochs Winery

This family-owned winery sits on top of a hill with breathtaking views of the Texas Hill Country. Proudly offering a wide selection of award-winning wines, it’s no wonder Torr Na Lochs is quickly becoming a must-visit destination for wine lovers.  They even have longhorns on the property you can see and live music.

From their crisp white wines to their bold reds, the tasting options are endless. I highly recommend visiting this charming winery at lunch to experience the warmth and hospitality of the staff, while sipping on delicious wines and enjoying a charcuterie board, salad, paninis, or pizza (on the weekends). My favorite wine was their 2021 Picpoul Blanc white and my second favorite was a blend, the 2019 Henry’s Red Wine. Lindsey’s favorite was the 2019 Sweet Sunset. Located at 7055 TX-29, Burnet, TX 78611.

Perissos Vineyard & WineryPerissos Winery

This winery at 7214 Park Rd 4 W, Burnet, TX 78611 is undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip. The vineyard has a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. We enjoyed sampling several of their award-winning wines, including their Syrah and Aglianico. Lindsey’s favorite was a sweet wine called Serendipity. My favorite variety was the 2022 Picpoul Blanc followed by the 2022 Viognier. (I never realized I was such a fan of Picpoul wine!)

Texas Legato WineryTexas Legato Winery

The Texas Legato Winery at 2935 FM 1478, Lampasas, TX 76550 was another gem. This family-owned and operated vineyard has been around for over a decade, and they sure know how to make a good fruit wine like their blueberry wine. Their tasting room was cozy and welcoming, and the wine experts there were knowledgeable and friendly.

Wedding Oak WineryWedding Oak Winery

Located at 316 E Wallace St, San Saba, TX 76877. Don’t let the name of this winery fool you – it’s open to everyone, not just those planning weddings. We were impressed by their diverse selection of wines, including whites, reds, and rosés. Their Syrah was a standout for us. The quaint, intimate tasting room made it feel like a one-of-a-kind experience.

Now you might be wondering why this one was included. It’s over an hour away but they have a tasting room right in Burnet so if it’s too far just check out the tasting room instead. There’s rooftop seating perfect if it’s not too hot outside.

Fall Creek VineyardsFall Creek Vineyards

This trailblazing vineyard at 1820 Co Rd 222, Tow, TX 78672 is revered by wine aficionados across the state. The view from their tasting room is nothing short of breathtaking, with stunning views over the rolling hills of the Texas Hill Country. Get Travel Insurance

Unfortunately, there are a lot of things that can go wrong on any trip. Be prepared for the worst with travel insurance. We use Travelex or Safety Wing (often cheaper).

Book Flights

I use Skyscanner to find flights. I use it so much, I wrote an entire guide to finding cheap flights with Skyscanner! My second favorite site to find flights is Momondo, another great site for finding cheap flights.

Book a Place to Stay

I recommend using Expedia.com or Hotels.com for most hotel bookings. I prefer to book directly with Marriott when I stay there because of their excellent military discount.

If you prefer staying in a vacation rental instead, I recommend VRBO.

Rent Clothes

Rent clothes for your trip with Travel Style Expert for only $50 a month!

Choose Activities and Tours

To find great activities in any area I use Get Your Guide and Viator. If we are visiting a city with lots of popular attractions I always check CityPass and GoCard to see if they have discount cards available.

When I want to book a full-on multi-day tour I use TourRadar. They’ve got fantastic weekly deals.

Rent a Car or Take a Lyft

More often than not Lyft is cheaper than Uber. Use my Lyft link for an $18 credit! For a car rental in any country, I recommend Discover Cars.
