Wyndham Lake Buena Vista a family friendly hotel is inside the Walt Disney World property. They are an official Disney World Good Neighbor hotel and it is the closest hotel to Disney Springs.
Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Hotel
I have stayed at Wyndham Lake Buena Vista many times now and I always enjoy staying here. There are many reasons that keep us coming back, including the location, dining options, spacious rooms, and views of the fireworks.
There are definite perks that come along with staying at an official Walt Disney World Good neighbor hotel like the Wyndham. Here are my favorite benefits.
They have a continous shuttle that will take you to all the main parks including the water parks. I’ve taken the shuttle quite a bit and it’s been great every time. Shuttles run to and from the parks every 30 minutes all day. Buses start 60 minutes before the parks open until 90 minutes after the parks close. If for some reason you cannot get to where you want to go on this shuttle, go catch a Disney shuttle at Disney Springs. After 4 P.M. you can catch a shuttle from Disney Springs.
Some of their employees participate in pin trading and there is a pin trading board with tons of pins! If you do not know what pin trading is check out our guide to pin trading at Disney!
Link your hotel reservation and your tickets to your My Disney account and you will have access to the extra magic hours. Magic hours are when only guests are allowed in the park, either an hour before they open or an hour after they close.
60-Day FastPass+ benefits
Guests staying here have the opportunity to reserve access to select attractions, shows and more, up to 60 days before you arrive. You have to have a valid theme park ticket or confirmation number and a hotel reservation number, are able to link their hotel reservation on MyDisneyExperience.com.
Be sure to ask your travel provider to ensure they can give you the necessary ticket confirmation or hotel reservation number needed to utilize this benefit. Upon booking your stay, please allow 24-72 hours for your information to be added to the Disney reservation system.
If you have not already bought tickets, I do not recommend buying tickets directly from Disney, instead get them from an authorized Disney seller. They will get you a better deal. I’ve partnered with my friend Jenn to get you the best deal and a free gift. Fill out this form to get your discount!
Disney Springs Passport
This is abooklet that features discounts and specials from Disney Springs merchants on entertainment, shopping and dining. Among the coupons featured in the booklet are discounts and special offers at The Polite Pig, Rainforest Café at Disney Springs Marketplace, Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante, T-Rex Café, Wolfgang Puck Express, Frontera Cocina, House of Blues Restaurant, Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company, and Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop.
They are located inside Disney World property lines and they are the closest hotel to Disney Springs. You can be in Disney Springs within a 5 to 10 minute walk depending on how fast you walk. You cross a bridge over the road and you walk down into Disney Springs. If you haven’t seen Disney Springs since they redid it you are missing out. There are way more stores to shop at and lots of new restaurants.
All three of the rooms I’ve stayed here had views of Disney Springs.
Multiple Dining Options
Lake View Restaurant – This restaurant offers an affordable character breakfast buffet with characters like Pluto and Goofy three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday at 7:30am – 10:30am. the cost of the character buffer is $26.95 per adult and $17.95 per child. This is one of the cheapest character meals at Disney World. On the days they are not having the character breakfast you can get buffet for less or order al la carte.
Room Service – Room service is available from 7:30 AM until 11 PM every day. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Eclipse Lounge – This is a small cocktail bar area that children are allowed at in the lobby. They have hamburgers and sandwiches. They serve Hootie beer here, which is Darius Rucker’s beer.
Oasis Bar and Grill – This restaurant is out by the pool. I can vouch for their chicken and beef sliders as well as their pina coladas! This is my favorite place to eat here.
Family Friendly Amenities
Wyndham Lake Buena Vista offers a lot of included amenities. They do charge an $18 a day resort fee per room.
Swimming – They have a nice large pool with a kids water playground. The pool bar offers food and drinks. I recommend the beef or chicken sliders. If you like you can rent a cabana for the day. There is another swimming pool and a hot tub as well.
Volleyball – There is a sand volleyball court near the main pool.
Fitness center – The fitness center is open 24 hours a day. This is great for guests with jet lag.
Play area – There is an adorable play area for little ones to play at inside the lobby.
Our room always has plenty of room and it is always quiet. I highly appreciate not hearing other people through the walls! I have had the same layout each time. Two beds, desk, dresser, and bathroom. The rooms have clever storage space. The most recent time I stayed, our room had a view of the fireworks. Please note that all of these photos are from Wyndham Lake Buena Vista (I’ve only stayed in the tower) and not their sister property Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista. If you are looking for an even more affordable place to stay check out the Garden property, it shares all these amenities.
Every room has a mini fridge and a coffee maker inside this long cabinet.
The desk has regular plugs and USB ports.
Lots of storage.
Here is a quick tour of the room we stayed in. They do have extra large suites available as well, but I didn’t get any video of them.
Things that cost extra:
- Parking – Parking costs per night, regardless if you self park or valet park.
- Massage – You can get a massage in your room for a fee.
- Cabanas – You can get a cabana at the pool for a fee.
- MagicBands – You do not get MagicBands when you stay here. You will need to order them before your trip or purchase when you get to Disney.
