Playdate PDX
Playdate PDX is one of the coolest places in Portland to take your kids and of course a great place for a PDX playdate. Why? Because it is terrific for kids and grownups. For kids, there is a massive indoor play place that will keep them busy for hours. It’s actually three stories high. They can slide, climb, and crawl around burning off all that energy they never seem to run out of! They are open every day from 9 AM until 8 PM. On Fridays and Saturdays, they stay open 1 hr later until 9 PM.
On Tuesday and Saturday nights you can come in and play laser tag in their castle.
On Wednesdays, you can get free admission when you bring in two cans of food for the Oregon Food Bank.
They are always hosting special events like story time, dance parties, or puppet shows. Just check their website to see what events they have coming up.
For grownups, there are tables and chairs to sit at. A cafe that you can order food and drinks from including alcoholic beverages and lattes. Food options include lots of healthy options like salads and wraps, as well as paninis, flatbreads, and wings. They also have kid meals available with choices like hot dogs, grilled cheese, and peanut butter and jelly.
Most importantly they have wifi, which means if you can work through noise, you can get some work done. I sit off to the side of the play structure along the wall to the right-hand side where it is a little less crazy and easier to get some work done.
- If you forget to bring socks for your kids they have them available for purchase for $2.50.
Playdate PDX is located at 1434 NW 17th Ave – On the corner of 17th & Quimby. There is a little parking in front and more in the back. There’s parking available along the streets too.
